Privacy Policy

Play & Learn Arcade is run by Gusain Studio. It is made for kids, so we collect as little as we can, and a parent or guardian is always in charge of a child's profile. This page explains, in plain language, what we store and why.

The short version
  • Anyone can play without an account. Guests' progress stays in their own browser.
  • Only adults create accounts. Kids never need an email address or their full name.
  • No ads, no tracking or analytics, and we never sell or share your data.
  • There is no chat and no public profile. Kids can't contact other people through the site.
  • You can download or delete your family's data at any time.

Playing as a guest

Without an account, games save progress and creations in your browser's local storage on that device. That data is not sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.

Family accounts

A parent or guardian creates the account and confirms their email address. By doing so they give consent for the kid profiles they add.

WhatWhy
Parent: name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), a family code, when you agreed to this policy, and when you last signed in To run your account, let you sign in, and send account emails
Each kid: a first name or nickname, an avatar picture, an optional grade range, and an optional picture password (stored only as a secure hash) So kids can pick their profile and sign in, and so each kid's progress stays separate
Kids' saves: level progress and scores, game settings, and creations such as stories, poems, songs, pixel art and creatures So progress and creations are the same on every device the kid uses

Some things always stay on the device and are never uploaded: Animation Flipbook drawings, the Kaleidoscope painting, and sound settings.

Kids' stories and poems contain whatever they type. We suggest reminding kids not to write addresses, phone numbers or other personal details in their creations.

Emails

We only send emails about your account: confirming your email address, resetting your password, and telling you when your password is changed or your account is deleted. We never send marketing email, and we never email kids.

Cookies and technical data

Who else handles the data

The website, database and email are hosted by our hosting provider, Hostinger, which stores the data on our behalf. We don't share your data with anyone else, except if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Your choices

After signing in on the Grown-ups page you can:

You can also ask us to do any of this, or ask a question, by emailing contact@gusainstudio.com.

Keeping data safe

The site only works over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Passwords and picture passwords are stored as one-way hashes, and repeated wrong guesses are paused. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your family's data and will tell you if something goes wrong.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you've already given us, we'll email account holders first.
